Are you interested in leading change and innovation within an international business environment? Would you like to develop and sharpen your skills? Then the International Business Innovation Studies is perfect for you.
International Business Innovation Studies (IBIS) is Inholland’s challenging, English-taught 4-year bachelor programme. It is aimed at providing the business world and society with agents of innovation who can help the business they work for to survive and thrive in this age of rapid change. These are professionals who look at the business world from a fresh perspective, who can see beyond the conventional ‘business as usual’, who spot or create opportunities, who understand customer needs, who come up with new ideas and who are capable of implementing these in the existing business context.
The IBIS programme merges solid business knowledge with modern, creative, future-oriented and change-driven concepts and applications, combined with a good dose of international and cross-cultural knowledge and skills. The programme focuses on innovation in an international business context. This includes product and service innovation as well as process innovation, management innovation, sector innovation and societal innovation.
Practical experience
Practical experience is very important in the IBIS programme. Students actively interact with representatives from the professional field through professional coaching, guest lectures, seminars, site visits, assignments and projects.
Throughout the curriculum, the programme offers students the study unit 'The Quandary'. In this study unit students of all years and staff work together on commissioned innovation assignments. These assignments can deal with investigation and research, idea generation and iteration, design and prototyping, implementation and execution or evaluation and improvement and are commissioned by all types of organisations in all kinds of sectors and industries. Through the quandary assignments students learn to work in intergenerational teams, get hands-on experience in applying their meta-skills and get acquainted with different companies and industries.
In years 3 and 4, students actually go out into the professional field by going on work placement and by working on their graduation project.
