Career services
Newcastle’s popularity as a regional centre and national tourist destination means that there are plenty of part-time work opportunities available for students. The Job Shop, based in the union building, helps students find part-time work while they are studying and full-time work in the holidays.
The Careers Services’ Vacancies Online is a job search facility which offers vacation work, placements and internships. Their North East Graduate Directory is a searchable directory of over 600 graduate employers in the North East, with information on whether they offer vacation work, part-time work, and placement opportunities. The Careers Service also runs the Newcastle Work Experience programme, 120-hour, project based placements in North East SMEs.
