Student life
The Moscow State University is renowned not only for its academic achievements, but also for its cultural life. Students have a large variety of athletic, social and cultural organizations to choose from. The university also regularly holds conferences, as well as KVN comedy tournaments.
Accommodation
The MSU comprises on the order of one thousand buildings, including 8 student dormitories. The main building of the university is located on the Sparrow Hills, which is where most of the foreign students are quartered. A number of dorms are also located in the South-Western Administrative Okrug of Moscow. Student dormitories are equipped with every amenity necessary for living, learning, and relaxation: cafeterias, sports grounds, study halls, and sales outlets. City bus routes connect all MSU dormitories to the Central building. Dorm housing is about 400 rubles a month for full-time budgetary students, and 7,000 to 8,000 rubles for paying students.
Career services
An academic and professional orientation department functioning at the MSU provides career guidance to graduates and Master's degree holders. The department also helps freshman and sophomore students sign up for internships in their field of training. A variety of informal students groups and associations can also help students find part-time jobs during their education.
