This course is of particular interest to anyone currently working in public health or health improvement, whether within the NHS or any other organisation; the course offers students from a range of disciplines the opportunity to engage with new perspectives in public health and to meet the requirements for public health knowledge outlined in recent government initiatives; it has been developed to assist professionals in multidisciplinary, inter-agency and inter-professional working in ways which cross traditional organisation boundaries, thinking creatively and inclusively in order to achieve a healthier future for all; it emphasises the development and utilisation of transferable skills and the application of knowledge and theory to practice; the programme is based on a student centred perspective designed to deliver the opportunities to develop key and transferable skills which are utilised in public health work; it aims to raise awareness of the complexity and diversity involved in public health work and to enable individuals to combine knowledge, skills, abilities and insights into working towards improvements in health.
