A Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Drama may be pursued in either Theatre Design, Technical Theatre Stage Management or Technical Theatre Production. This competitive four-year degree program revolves around practical projects and coursework, plus hands-on experience in fully-realized productions. Throughout the program, BFA students all interact with faculty directors, designers and dramaturges, as well as visiting professionals and distinguished guests from all areas of theatre.

The Faculty of Education is located on the University of Alberta’s main campus (North Campus), which has faced downtown Edmonton from across the banks of the North Saskatchewan River for a century.


The U of A is minutes from the North Saskatchewan River valley, North America’s largest stretch of urban parkland. Historic Whyte Avenue, with its boutiques and coffee shops, is a short walk from campus, and downtown’s Jasper Avenue, home to high-quality restaurants and nightlife, is a few LRT stops away. Just a few more stations down the line, the Arts District boasts the Winspear Centre of Music and the Citadel Theatre.
