This course enables the student to study education alongside modules from one of the partner departments; this allows development within, and comparison and contrast with, areas of the the two subjects; this provides the student with an understanding of what kind of subject education is, particularly in comparison to other academic subject areas, and an understanding of issues of similarity and contrast between research methodologies in education and their joint subject; the student develops an understanding of the nature of the knowledge in their joint subject and its curricular implications and also develops specialist and key skills.
