Wittenborg is one of the fastest growing independent international University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, focused on providing students with a combination of theory and practice.
The University was founded in 1987 by a Dutch entrepreneur and was managed by a group of multinational partners. The private institution quickly became an expert authority for the Banking, Insurance, and Real Estate Management industries. In 2010, the university moved its location to the city of Apeldoorn and in 2015 opened new location in Amsterdam.
As a university of applied sciences, Wittenborg University uses a practice-based approach to its education. Lectures are given by teachers and industry experts and students have plenty of opportunity to gain knowledge from lecturers, tutors, and professionals. The university distinguishes its education between lesson weeks and project weeks; project weeks are filled with business field-trips, coaching sessions, and workshops. This constant relationship with expert in the business field provide students with the opportunity to build a strong professional network during their study.
The University offers Bachelor and Master management programmes in 5 main domains; Business, Hospitality & Tourism, Sport & Care, Arts & Technology and Education. Bachelor programmes are either three or four year tracks. Master programmes are all offered completely in English and last between 1 and 2 years. If you are an international student and you need additional preparation and support in English or foundation subjects to complete undergraduate or postgraduate study at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences, the University recommends to enrol through the Foundation Programmes.
The Keuzegids HBO Voltijd Student Guide 2014 has ranked Wittenborg’s IBA undergraduate programme as 5th in The Netherlands. The university has also become the best private institution, accredited by the Dutch government.
Wittenborg has created 10 different Bachelor’s programmes which lead to an International Business Administration degree. It also offers 4 Master’s programmes in the Hospitality and Service Management sector and the MBA programme with specialisations in MBA in General Management, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and Hospitality Management.
Students wishing to brush up on their English and business skills before tackling a degree can choose from several preparatory programmes available at the university.
All programmes are taught in English, and English is the language of the university.
