Set in a historic student city, Oxford Brookes University is the only UK university in the QS ranking of top 50 institutions under 50 years old (QS World University Rankings Top 50 Under 50 2019).
Oxford Brookes University has over 150 years of history. Started in 1865 as the Oxford School of Art, the University has grown into one of the UK's top modern universities with a local, national and international reputation for teaching and research excellence. It is the only UK modern university to have achieved 24 subjects rated as excellent for teaching. Nearly 10% of students currently study wholly or partly through distance learning, and online-supported MBA has attracted students from over 17 countries.
Oxford Brookes International Foundation courses will help you to prepare for undergraduate study and give you a really good introduction to university life. You will improve your English and study skills and take classes in your chosen subject. After your foundation, the University offers either guaranteed placement on an Oxford Brookes degree (subject to a satisfactory pass rate) or automatic progression onto a degree course as a part of a combined four-year programme. 93.2% of Brookes students are in work and/or further study within 6 months of graduating (HESA Destination of Leavers 2017).
A Pre-Master’s course will prepare you for success in your master’s degree. Once you enrol you will have a guaranteed pathway to your postgraduate programme by passing with appropriate grades.
Around 25 of OBU degree courses are recognised by a professional awarding body, leading to membership of a professional body, or exemption from professional exams.
Oxford Brookes is a top 20 university in 9 subject areas (The Complete University Guide 2019).
The campuses are filled with bars, cafes, and food outlets so there are plenty of places for you to meet up with friends, have fun and socialise.
We even organise regular cultural events, like theatre visits and traditional dance evenings, to help you experience life in the UK. Our events are a great way of meeting other students from across the University.
Getting you from A to B quickly and cheaply, the Brookes Bus service links all three campuses with the halls of residence, Oxford city centre and local supermarkets. Free Brookes bus passes are available to students.
