How to apply

Students from non-European partner universities are entitled to study at the University of Vienna for one or two semesters under the Non-EU Student Exchange Program, provided the University of Vienna has concluded an exchange agreement with the student's home university and that the student has been nominated by the partner university. If you want to come to the University of Vienna for a Non-EU Student Exchange stay, these are the steps you must take:

  • Nomination by your home university (deadline for the winter semester: May 1, deadline for the summer semester: October 1)
  • Send the completed Non-EU Student Exchange Certificate form and a current Transcript of Records to the Student Mobility Office (Büro für Studierendenmobilität). The form must be stamped and signed by the International Office of your home university.
  • Please complete the online preregistration (a detailed guide can be foundhere). Further information will be sent to you after we have received the official nomination from your home university.

Deadline: 1 May for the winter semester, 1 October for the summer semester
