University of Massachusetts Lowell

University of Massachusetts at Lowell is a public institution. Founded as a state college in 1894, it gained university status in 1959 and joined the state system in 1991. A comprehensive university, it has special expertise in applied science and technology and is deeply committed to educating students for lifelong success and conducting research and outreach activities that bring value to the region. 

The second largest of the UMass campuses, Lowell currently offers its 13,000 undergraduate and graduate students 90 different degree programs in its six schools and colleges:

The university offers 122 bachelor's, 43 master's and 36 doctoral degree programs, including nationally recognized programs in engineering, criminal justice, education, music, science and technology. 

The most popular majors by the number of registered students are business/marketing, engineering, computer and information sciences, health professions, security and protective services, psychology, visual and performing arts.
