Spanning more than 125 acres along the Merrimack River, UMass Lowell’s state-of-the-art urban campus boasts a total square footage of more than 3 million, divided into three campus clusters – North, South and East. In recent years, UMass Lowell has opened 12 new buildings to students, including a new business school, Riverview Suites and the Mark and Elisia Saab Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center. In addition, students, faculty, and staff can borrow bikes free through the Free Wheelers Bike Share program.
UMass Lowell has more than 200 student-run organizations. Of those, the seven largest are funded directly from the student activities fee.
There are many things to do for fun on campus. The school itself puts on so many activities and socials that there is always something going on. There are always events for students organized by the school, and many clubs and activities, based upon interests, or majors and careers.
The school organizes many trips over the year to different states and cities. They offer a great area to play any sports or games.
Residence life is an integral part of the college experience; renovated housing and suite-style living where students can study, cook and relax with friends make the experience even better.
Each of 11 residence halls offers a variety of room options and benefits. Possible types include coed housing, apartments for single students, wellness housing (alcohol/drug/smoke-free), theme housing.
Besides, Living-Learning Communities (LLCs) provide students the opportunity to explore common interests with other students in their living environment. Through living and participating in an LLC, students are provided with intentional and meaningful opportunities that will help them to make purposeful links between the academic and co-curricular components of their college experience.
The UMass Lowell Career & Co-op Center provides a variety of services to current students to facilitate their career development. Its services and facilities offered include exploring majors and career, resumes and cover letters, interviewing, networking, on-campus recruiting, leadership development & rotational programs, job & internship help and graduate school resources.
