Most of undergraduate programmes use the UCAS system for applications. All UCAS applications must be made online. UCAS applications can be made between 1st September and normally 15th January preceding the September when you wish to commence your studies (or the better part of two years in advance if applying for deferred entry to have a 'year out'). There is an earlier closing date of 15th October for applications to Medicine or Dentistry. International students can still apply after the official deadline. Please contact the University for more information.
Students can apply to most of full time, taught postgraduate courses, using the online system, UKPASS. For most of the others courses, there is a paper form which will need to be downloaded. Students will need to check the individual course page to find out which application system to use.Deadlines vary and are usually a few months before the start of the course. Please refer to the programme’s individual pages for more information.
Most of our research areas use the same online system, UKPASS. The exceptions are the College of Life Sciences, and the Schools of Medicine & Dentistry. Please see the appropriate College pages for more information or send a request to University of Dundee. Deadlines vary and are usually a few months before the start of the course. Please refer to the programme’s individual pages for more information.
University of Dundee is located in Dundee, a city in Scotland. Dundee is situated beside a broad estuary of the River Tay surrounded by hills and farmland.
The city is dominated by the basalt plug of an extinct volcano, called Dundee Law. If one climbs 571 feet, one will be rewarded with fantastic views of the city and its surroundings. Dundee is south-facing and is Scotland's sunniest city. The climate is mild and snowfalls are rare. Lovers of the great outdoors will find that Dundee has a lot to offer all year round, both on land and water. Famous river fishing and golf courses are nearby, and an hour's drive will take one to magnificent mountains perfect for climbing, hiking, skiing or even snowboarding.
Dundee is called the City of Discovery and there's certainly plenty to discover. For example, Scott of the Antarctic's ship - RRS Discovery, built in Dundee - and the early 19th century warship, The Unicorn. There are good connections with the rest of the UK by train, coach and motorway. There are daily flights from Dundee airport to London City, Birmingham and Belfast. Edinburgh International airport, an hour away by motorway, provides a wider choice of destinations.
