With over 60 student societies at Dundee - including music, biology, politics, the environment, travel, history, religions – students will definitely find those who share their interests. Most societies have their own, very active, social scene with nights out, trips and get-togethers.
The Library has recently undergone extensive renovation and refurbishment, and has been designed to meet the challenges of 21st century study. Students will find flexible learning spaces in the library, with a mix of silent study zones, group work areas, and IT suites. The library has more than one million books, including a copy of every recommended book and multiple copies of key texts. The library also subscribes to over 4000 periodicals and journals so students can keep up to date with cutting edge research.
Built or renovated in the last 10 years, our student residences are not only modern and attractive, they are also great places to work, relax, socialise and meet new friends. Within the residences students will find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and a real community spirit.
There are four residences on the main campus or nearby (WestPark, the furthest, is approximately 1½km, half way between the main campus and Ninewells campus). So, whether it's lectures, a session in the library, shopping or a night out on the town, it's all close by.
Contemporary and comfortable, all study-bedrooms are furnished with a bed, wardrobe, desk and chair, computer link and all have en-suite shower and toilet. The Residences are formed from clusters of flats and each self-catered flat is shared by 4 and 10 residents has its own front door. All the Residences are self-catering and each flat has a kitchen with a cooker, kettle, microwave and fridge/freezer. Launderette facilities and bicycle storage are available at each residence.

University of Dundee is located in Dundee, a city in Scotland. Dundee is situated beside a broad estuary of the River Tay surrounded by hills and farmland.
The city is dominated by the basalt plug of an extinct volcano, called Dundee Law. If one climbs 571 feet, one will be rewarded with fantastic views of the city and its surroundings. Dundee is south-facing and is Scotland's sunniest city. The climate is mild and snowfalls are rare. Lovers of the great outdoors will find that Dundee has a lot to offer all year round, both on land and water. Famous river fishing and golf courses are nearby, and an hour's drive will take one to magnificent mountains perfect for climbing, hiking, skiing or even snowboarding.
Dundee is called the City of Discovery and there's certainly plenty to discover. For example, Scott of the Antarctic's ship - RRS Discovery, built in Dundee - and the early 19th century warship, The Unicorn. There are good connections with the rest of the UK by train, coach and motorway. There are daily flights from Dundee airport to London City, Birmingham and Belfast. Edinburgh International airport, an hour away by motorway, provides a wider choice of destinations.
