The University of Sydney

The fees you pay at the University of Sydney can be divided into four main types:

• Tuition fees, of which you need to pay one semester up front as a deposit
• The Student Services and Amenities Fee
• Incidental fees, for equipment or protective clothing (a requirement of some courses)
• Health insurance, through the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) scheme.

The Scholarships and Financial Support Service administers scholarships, student loans, bursaries, and prizes for undergraduates, postgraduate coursework and postgraduate research students.

There are over 700 scholarship schemes on offer and each year and the University of Sydney gives out over $65 million in scholarships, not taking into consideration prizes or college and sporting scholarships. There are a number of scholarships available at the University of Sydney, designed for international students. Some scholarships are faculty-based and others are available across all faculties.

Student loans and bursaries assist students who may experience financial difficulties. This assistance is not intended to provide ongoing income support or payment of fees, but to help in emergencies and to supplement other income.
