The University has an integrated library, across both campuses, which provides access to electronic resources and the internet as well as books, journals and materials to support all courses.
Robert Gordon University has its own Student Association. This is located at the Schoolhill Campus in the centre of Aberdeen, and consists of diverse leisure facilities including: a shop, café, bar, lounge, snooker and pool tables, and a study area. There is also daily evening entertainment in the Union ranging from DJ’s to karaoke nights; with prices in the shop, café and bar kept as low as possible.
Over 50 clubs and societies are organised within the Union. These range from sports, such as football, rugby, hockey and snowboarding, to activities like drama and charity fundraising. All the sports are a good opportunity for students to experience something new and to make friends. In addition to this, the Union also runs a Volunteering Centre that is geared to helping students gain valuable unpaid work experience in an area of their choice. Student Services organise a variety of events, specifically for international students, throughout the year. These include a Welcome Reception at the start of the academic year, excursions and various other activities during the year, including a major international party night, which is usually in March.
The University's Careers Service has a Job Shop that can help if you are looking for part-time work; you will also receive full details on other ways to get a part-time job when you attend the Orientation Session on your arrival at Robert Gordon University.
