KENT RIDGE CAMPUS
NUS’ main campus since 1980, the sprawling 150-hectare Kent Ridge Campus hosts most of the University’s academic, research and administrative facilities. It is also a bustling hub of student life, with a myriad of student residences, sports facilities and venues for arts and cultural activities. University Town (UTown) – an extension of the Kent Ridge Campus – introduces the residential college concept of learning and living on campus, a first in Singapore’s higher education landscape. UTown’s design integrates green concepts and offers a host of educational and recreational spaces which encourage interaction, peer learning and personal development.
BUKIT TIMAH CAMPUS
The Bukit Timah Campus houses the Faculty of Law, the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy as well as the Asia Research Institute and East Asian Institute. Marked by its distinctive colonial-style building architecture, its rich history dates back to 1928 when NUS’ predecessor institution, Raffles College, was established.
OUTRAM CAMPUS
Located among many of the nation’s key medical institutions, NUS’ Outram Campus is home to the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore (Duke- NUS). Duke-NUS offers an innovative medical education programme with a distinctive research focus, designed to develop a new generation of medical leaders in research, education and patient care.
All full-time undergraduate students are members of the NUS Students’ Union (NUSSU) and its respective faculty constituent clubs. NUSSU comprises a total of 14 constituent clubs and nine committees.
For the sporty, the Sports and Recreation Centre under the Office of Student Affairs offers over 70 competitive and recreational sports and games to our students and staff. The Stephen Riady Centre also serves as a hub for sporting, educational and cultural activities. Sports facilities include basketball, handball, netball, squash and tennis courts; multipurpose field and halls; archery range; gyms and swimming pools, and even a rock-climbing wall.
Kent Ridge Campus is home to a host of facilities and ventures for arts and cultural activities, the majority of which are housed at the University Cultural Centre and Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music.
Students are spoilt for choice with the wide variety of cafes, restaurants, canteens, food kiosks and fast food joints available on campus. You can easily grab a quick bite as you go about your studies or sports activities. You don’t even have to venture far to buy essential groceries or toiletries.
The accommodations at NUS are tailored to meet the different needs of our students.
Halls of residence : Living in the halls of residence is akin to having another family in school. As everyone is just a knock on the door away, all the late-night suppers and “mugging” (a colloquial term for studying hard) sessions foster a strong sense of camaraderie. Each hall has its own distinct culture and is led by an elected hall master and committee.
Residential Colleges: Located in University Town (UTown), the residential colleges combine the vibrancy of campus living with exciting multidisciplinary academic programmes. Each residential college is led by a Rector, a Master and a team of faculty fellows.
Student residences: Live with an international community of students in the residences. As residences offer more privacy, they tend to be quieter than halls. Currently, NUS has two residences: Kuok Foundation House and Prince George’s Park Residences.
UTown Residence: provides accommodation primarily to the graduate community in NUS. With facilities that cater to both single and married students, the Residence also has many common spaces, lounges and sky gardens that promote interaction among its diverse community.
