Organizational leadership and management (OLM) students learn how to manage and lead change, diagnose problems and come up with solutions, and improve the people who make organizations successful. They develop leadership and managerial competencies, communication, organizational development and change, and conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
UT's organizational leadership and management program has three major foci: leading and managing change, training and development, and communication. Students are continually involved in the OLM field by participating in professional meetings, having practitioners speak in their classrooms and interacting with the professional community on a regular basis.
Students can gain real-world experience through numerous internship opportunities that often lead to full-time positions. This lets students work with accomplished professionals in leadership and management while earning college credit and money.
