Entry requirements

When you apply to MIT, you apply to the entire university, not to a specific major or school. All first-year students begin MIT with an undeclared major. During the freshman year, MIT will provide academic fairs, lectures, seminars, and other programs to help students determine which major will suit them best; they then are free to choose from MIT's majors, without any additional requirements or admission procedures. The TOEFL (minimum paper based: 577; minimum Internet based 90) as well as two SAT Subject Tests: one in math (level 1 or 2) and one in science (physics, chemistry, or biology e/m). We recommend that all international students study: Four years of English Mathematics, at least to the level of calculus Two or more years of history / social studies Biology Chemistry Physics
