Putting theory into practice in real projects is a hallmark of education at HAN. During this course you get the fundamentals of chemistry, including analytical and organic chemistry. At the same time you dive straight into practice in the lab.
During your studies, you work on group projects with other Chemistry students. The projects deal with real problems in analytical and organic chemistry, for example.
What's more, HAN collaborates with companies and research institutes in the Netherlands and abroad. This gives you invaluable, relevant work experience in the chemistry field. It also allows you to work on your problem-solving and communication skills. Skills that put you in high demand on the labour market.
This is what our students say:
Are you ready to learn chemistry? At HAN that means studying for 4 years in full time at the Nijmegen campus. Following different theoretical subjects and workshops on analytical chemistry. Working once a week in the lab. Sometimes on your own, sometimes in a group. And developing your professional knowledge and skills.
Learning chemistry at HAN really kick starts your international career. The department has contacts with numerous universities and companies in Europe, USA and Australia. That means great opportunities for going abroad as part of your studies.
A future working at Shell, Akzo-Nobel, Unilever or Nutricia? Or a renowned university or research institute? HAN prepares you for a dynamic career in an international setting.
HAN University of Applied Sciences has two campuses, located in Arnhem and Nijmegen.
Nijmegen is situated on the banks of the river Waal, in the east of The Netherlands, near to the German border, and is the oldest city in Holland - recently celebrating its 2,000th anniversary.
Arnhem, the capital of the province of Gelderland, is only 15km from Nijmegen and lies partially in the hills at the edge of National Park De Veluwe, a striking area of woods and heath. Arnhem is a ‘green’ city, where people take pleasure in living, working and recreation.
