Through investigation of contemporary crafts, students have opportunity to assess and analyse their work in light of current practice, and devise ways to advance the field; 3 subject areas: ceramics, glass and jewellery/metalwork; covers: main themes of debate in the contemporary applied arts which may be pursued through practical work; research and investigative skills; students propose an outline of intended study, research, and practical development, and by negotiation with staff, submit a formal assignment.
