The course has 8 modules which gives the student a range of skills and knowledge from preparing for teaching, learning and assessment to subject specific teaching and learning; having established some essential knowledge and skills to establish the student’s professional practice in the classroom, the subsequent modules cover broader topics that are most relevant to each individual student's setting; the modules the student studies are as follows: preparing for teaching and planning for learning; developing effective teaching and assessment; professional practice and personal development (1); subject specific teaching and learning; evaluation of the learner experience: access, support and progression; professional practice and personal development (2); developing and delivering the curriculum within post-compulsory education and training (PCET); current issues in post-compulsory education and training (PCET).
