An innovative curriculum is followed, comprising 11 modules at academic levels 1, 2 and 3; this includes inter-professional education, shared learning and multi-professional approaches to care; placements are at National Health Service hospitals and community areas, giving you a variety of experience with opportunities to participate in innovative aspects of midwifery practice, such as case holding practice in final year; students are mentored by a different midwife in each placement ad work the same off-duty which can include night duty, weekends and on-call duties thus gaining understanding of total midwifery care; midwifery lectures are all practising midwives and participate in student assessment.
