This course aims to produce graduates with a standard of scientific knowledge, interpersonal skills and the professional outlook necessary to embark on a career in any branch of the pharmaceutical profession; students study a range of disciplines including: pharmaceutical chemistry; medicines designs and manufacture; pharmacology and therapeutics; pharmacy practice; students are given support to secure a one year pre-registration work placement which you must successfully complete in order to register as a pharmacist; students must also pass the national examination set by the royal pharmaceutical society of great Britain; teaching methods include lectures, tutorials, laboratory and clinical work, problem solving workshops and student presentations; placement opportunities help students to put their knowledge into practice.
