Year 1: Is common to both pathways; students experience skills essential to all areas such as materials skills, colour and trend prediction; this knowledge is then applied to the chosen pathway from the end of year 1. Years 2 and 3: Students focus on fashion buying skills, which include selecting the right garments and developing products with manufacturers and designers; the inclusion of design provides students with an understanding of how fashion designers operate and the essentials of range building; buying modules are taught by experienced buyers and visiting speakers who explain how companies operate.
