Drama studies Year 1: 4 modules to provide a practical and theoretical introduction to drama involving technical skills of lighting, sound and computer-based scenic design; theatre history; theories of performance and acting technique; scripting and directing skills. Year 2: Practical skills are developed through the study of naturalistic and non-naturalistic dramatic practices from the early modern period through contemporary post-modern theatres. Year 3: Independence in the choice of modules as well as the opportunity to focus on individual interests. Education studies Year 1: Perspectives in education; issues in European education. Year 2: Historical and contemporary perspectives on children, teachers and education; development of the individual; contemporary issues in research in education; education, culture, economy and society. Year 3: Adult learners and learning; education dissertation; education and equality: class, race and ethnicity; gender in education; placement.
