Year 1: Dance (principles in practice; dance technique 1; understanding dance (ideas, themes and context); understanding dance (ideas, themes and practice); rethinking choreography. Year 2: Dance (principles in practice 2); dance technique 2; understanding dance (rethinking history); understanding dance (performance making); understanding dance (dance in education and the community); image, movement and performance. Year 3: Dance (principles in practice 3); dance technique 3; dance as history; university dance company. Drama studies Year 1: 4 modules to provide a practical and theoretical introduction to drama involving technical skills of lighting, sound and computer-based scenic design; theatre history; theories of performance and acting technique; scripting and directing skills. Year 2: Practical skills are developed through the study of naturalistic and non-naturalistic dramatic practices from the early modern period through contemporary post-modern theatres. Year 3: Independence in the choice of modules as well as the opportunity to focus on individual interests.
