Level 1: Covers the theory of mechanical timekeeping, workshop practice, and measured drawing; prepares candidates for the BHI certificate in clock and watch servicing (technician grade) and the certificate in the repair, restoration and conservation for clocks/watches (final grade part 1). Level 2: enables students to study these subjects in greater depth; complex automatic watches, chronographs and calendars are introduced; students undertake a major practical project and may specialise in antique or modern clocks or watches; prepares candidates for the first year examinations of the certificate in the repair, restoration and conservation for clocks/watches (final grade part 2).
