Yeshiva University

Now in its second century, Yeshiva University is the oldest and most comprehensive educational research institution under Jewish auspices in America, founded in 1886. It is an independent university that ranks among the nation's leading academic research institutions and, reflecting the time-honored tradition of Torah Umadda, provides the highest quality Jewish and secular education of any Jewish university in the world. 

While the majority of students at the University are of the Jewish faith, many students, especially at School of Law, the College of Medicine, and the School of Business, are not Jewish. Yeshiva University is an independent institution chartered by New York State.

The U.S. News and World Report's 2017 "America's Best Colleges" ranked Yeshiva University as the 66th best National University.

YU alumni have gone on to become distinguished rabbinic leaders, world political leaders, business giants and philanthropists. Alumni have achieved immense success and made significant contributions to society and the Jewish community both nationally and worldwide. 

The most popular specializations among students are Business/Marketing (27% of total number of bachelors), Biology (18%), Psychology (14%), Social Sciences (11%), English (6%), Interdisciplinary Studies (5%), Philosophy and Religious Studies (5%).
