Our Main Campus is scenic but compact. You can walk nearly anywhere in less than 15 minutes or take a continuous shuttle service. The shuttle also runs between Main and Health Science campuses so students with activities on both have dependable transportation.
As a UT student, you’ll have a comprehensive team and special services supporting you, even beyond your professors and advisers:
Members of the UT community even open their homes to international students during holidays such as Thanksgiving, offering a slice of American traditions and warm hospitality.
Because all freshman and sophomore students who live more than an hour outside Toledo are required to live on campus, we do our best to make your time at UT rewarding and fun.
Life at UT is enhanced by a number of experiences outside the classroom, including:
UT takes your welfare seriously, as well. Security officers are on campus 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, and we employ numerous measures to ensure your safety, including a NightWatch escort service and UT Alert, a quick means of notifying students by text or email of a situation of concern. To ensure good health is a priority, UT also offers a student health clinic on our Main Campus, as well as the comprehensive services of The UT Medical Center on our Health Science Campus.
Toledo, called the “Glass City” for its history of glass manufacturing and known worldwide as “Home of the Jeep,” offers many cultural, athletic and entertainment attractions, including:
As U.S. News & World Reports’ #2 ranked U.S. city for outdoor lovers, you’ll find plenty of fun in the sun, snow, water and trails of Toledo.
Your “home away from home” will be in one of our nine on-campus residence halls. This housing offers a variety of living styles, from traditional rooms with shared bathrooms, to suite-style living with two or three bedrooms linked by a common area and restrooms for each suite. Most students elect meal plans, which provide a set amount of money to spend on food each semester.
The cuisine at UT is a mix of cultural and local favorites. Whether you prefer pizza and sandwiches, diner-style suppers or even sushi, our res hall cafeterias will keep you fueled. Dining dollars from students’ meal plans also can be used at campus eateries, such as Starbuck’s, Magic Wok, Steak ‘n Shake and more.
