Iconic in appearance and constantly buzzing with energy, Campustown is dedicated to student life. Cultural centers of Illinois offer the entire campus community opportunities to learn about and to experience the rich historic traditions and modern living cultures that shape our world. Any student can join one of 10 Living-Learning Communities (LLCs) to meet other students with the same interests.

Accommodation

23 Undergraduate University residence halls accommodate 8,550 students, including nine Living-Learning Communities. In 2014 the cost for double room and board (20 meals/week) was about $10,500 per year. Besides, for undergraduate there are 16 private certified housing units and 62 Greek houses. Single graduate students or students with families have an opportunity to live in two University-owned apartment complexes. Virtual Job Board for students and The Career Center provide students with all information either for on-campus or off-campus employment and offer a full range of programs, services, resources, and counseling to assist all students and alumni of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, regardless of academic affiliation.

Location

The university is in the twin cities of Champaign and Urbana (total population 207,000) in east-central Illinois, in the northeastern United States. Situated about 140 miles south of Chicago, 125 miles west of Indianapolis, and 180 miles northeast of St. Louis.
