The secondary school graduation certificate which would admit a student to an internationally recognized university in his or her home country is normally acceptable for admission to the University of Guelph.
Applicants required to provide evidence of English proficiency must meet one of the following four proficiency requirements:
Master’s and Graduate Diploma Requirements: Applicants are required to have completed a four year undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a minimum B- average over the last two years of full-time equivalent study.
Doctoral Requirements: Applicants are usually required to have completed a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution and must have a minimum B average over the last two years of full-time study. Applicants must also have demonstrated strong potential for research and must have achieved a minimum overall B average in a Master’s program.
International applicants applying from high school/secondary school may only apply for the Fall entry point, which begins in September. To be considered for admission to our academic programs, entrance scholarships and guaranteed residence, applicants must submit their application and supporting documents by March 1. When possible, we encourage applicants to submit transcripts by January 14 so they may be considered for early admission.
We recommend International applicants apply online a minimum of nine months in advance of the semester start date. We strongly encourage you to review the International Credential Guidelines before you apply online.
