The University's main Dublin campus occupies an extensive parkland estate of more than 130 hectares and offers world-leading facilities including the UCD O'Brien Centre for Science, UCD Sutherland School of Law, UCD Lochlan Quinn School of Business and UCD Student Centre.
Belfield, the main UCD campus is located in a beautiful 133-hectare parkland setting close to Dublin's city centre.
UCD has a proud sporting heritage and as a university competes across a wide-range of disciplines at national and international level.
The campus hosts many social events for students, staff and the local community. Whether it is going to the cinema, visiting an exhibition or meeting friends for a coffee and walk, there are numerous social activities to choose from.
There are currently over fifty student societies in the university, which cater for many interests.
UCD students can choose to live on-campus, or rent accommodation off-campus. Below are approximate costs related to the various accommodation types available. On-campus prices shown are based on the 2016-2017 academic year.

The UCD Career Development Centre (CDC) provides programmes and services that enhance students’ personal and professional development. For example, through credit- bearing modules on personal and professional development, through non-credit bearing certificates in skills for working life and in work-related learning, though personalised career coaching services and through skills development workshops in areas such as effective presentation skills, team work and leadership, emotional intelligence and projecting a professional image.
Labour market intelligence and opportunity awareness are critical to students’ success in securing internships and graduate jobs. Throughout the year, the CDC organizes around 120 employer-led recruitment presentations on campus, sources and advertises 1000’s of internship and graduate vacancies (inc.graduate study opportunities and funding) and organises the most extensive range of bespoke Career and Recruitment Fairs in Ireland. Attended by 1000’s of UCD students annually, these top class events attract leading national and international recruiters, serving as a key route for UCD students engaging in career progression.
