Arizona State University

Arizona State University (ASU) is one of the most ranking and popular US universities among foreign students. It is a large public metropolitan research institution on five campuses across the Phoenix, Arizona, metropolitan area and four regional learning centers throughout Arizona. ASU is the largest public university by enrollment in the United States. 

The University belongs to the top 1% of the Best World Universities according to Times Higher Education (2020). Over the past 5 years, it has also been ranked as the most innovative University in the United States (U.S. News & World Report, 2016-2020). Such high rankings result in the fact that University graduates have a higher chance of getting a job in Silicon valley than graduates of Ivy League universities (HiringSolved 2017).

Arizona State University offers to its students an excellent teaching staff – among more than 4,700 teachers and academic staff there are 5 Nobel prize winners, 36 Guggenheim grant recipients, 7 Pulitzer prize winners, as well as 250 successful participants of the Fulbright program.

ASU's academic programs are spread across campuses in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area; however, unlike most multi-campus institutions, ASU describes itself as "one university in many places," inferring that there is "not a system with separate campuses and not one main campus with branch campuses".

The historically major ASU Tempe campus offers hundreds of majors that engage undergraduates and graduates in multidisciplinary research and exploration in first-rate laboratories and facilities. 

Arizona State University was established as the Territorial Normal School at Tempe in 1885, when the 13th Arizona Territorial Legislature passed an act to create a normal school to train teachers for the Arizona Territory. 

The ASU campus consisted of a single, four-room schoolhouse on a 20-acre plot.

ASU offers over 250 majors to undergraduate students, and more than 100 graduate programs leading to numerous masters and doctoral degrees in the liberal arts and sciences, design and arts, engineering, journalism, education, business, law, nursing, public policy, technology, and sustainability.

According to U.S. News & World Report for 2020, ASU ranks 13th in accounting, 10th in management and 11th in marketing, and it is on the 1st place in the world in Master in Management.

ASU has 3rd place in the world in Employer-Student Connections (QS World University Rankings 2020). It is among the top 10 most popular universities among international students - ASU is chosen more often than UCLA, UC-Berkeley and the University of Washington (Institute of International Education, 2019).
