Throughout the degree programme students are encouraged to become creative and professional makers of cutting-edge film and television; students study feature film and short film production and use the skills they acquire to develop their own short films; this occurs in the writing of treatments; scripts and the development of storyboards for their own productions; to assist with this creative development students undertake complementary studies in pre-production; including areas such as budgeting; amongst the other creative aspects essential to professional work; students also acquire post-production skills and knowledge; students engaged in theoretical film analysis and students also have the opportunity to study theories of film; including notions of ideology; psychoanalytic theory; theories of gender and post modern cinema.
