8 compulsory core classes: each corresponding to areas stipulated by the BPS division of occupational psychology; plus research methods and a practice module: Human-machine interaction; design of environments and of work; personnel selection and assessment; performance appraisal and career development; counselling and personal development training; employee relations and motivation; organisational development; methods and statistics for occupational research and practice; the course is offered on a part-time basis over 2 years of formal teaching; 2 semesters per year each comprise 2 evening classes of 20 hours teaching, taught over a 10-week period; the methods and statistics module is taught over the summer; candidates must perform satisfactorily in their 1st year to progress to the 2nd year of the course.
