University of Salford, HND, Media Production
Level 1: Students will look at the areas of camera, sound, editing and video and audio, as well as production techniques; they will learn about the UK broadcast industry and the bodies which work with it; students will make their own video projects offer, pitching ideas to a team of professionals. Level 2: Core modules include a showreel project where students will be part of a crew and a module on industrial and professional practice; students will also study imagineering - an analysis of the wealth of imagery that fills our society; optional modules gives the chance to specialise in two of the following areas: drama; documentary; experimental video; studio; radio; and website design/new media; students can choose six study modules from 17 options, ranging from practical workshops to analytical modules and academic modules; the pathways are: production, camera, sound, edit and radio.
