MSc Business Economics is delivered by the Department of Economics at the University of Reading. Established more than forty years ago, the Department of Economics at the University of Reading built its reputation as the world's premier centre for teaching and research in international business.
In line with the changing global economic environment, we have continued to evolve. Our expertise currently spans areas ranging from econometrics to macroeconomics, banking and finance to development economics and from emerging markets to spatial and housing economics.
MSc Business Economics course provides an advanced insight into business, both at organisational and industry level, focusing in particular on areas including international business strategy, regulation and key research methods.
This course is designed for graduates either seeking to continue their studies on to the PhD level in the area of business economics or seeking career opportunities that require greater analytical skills. The latter may include working as a researcher at think-tanks, working in consultancy organisations and positions within government that require greater research/ analytical skills.
Alongside the internationally-renowned expertise of our staff we also welcome key figures, including senior business leaders, academics and diplomats, to give guest lectures. These bring to life the core issues taught within our courses. Recent speakers have come from organisations including Shell, Burren Energy, O2 and BP.
Our graduates have outstanding career prospects. MSc Business Economics will prepare you for roles such as corporate manager, policymaker and consultant, where it is useful to understand the key economic principles that underpin the business environment and corporate decision-making.
The University of Reading is located in the South-East of England and has excellent transport links. Reading's railway station is within only 25 minutes from London Paddington by high speed train, as well provides regular services to and from other cities around the UK. There are direct services to and from both London Heathrow and London Gatwick Airports.
