Course covers waves, tides, the design of harbours and marinas, and coastal protection; provides the engineering, design and management skills required by a modern professional civil or structural engineer; in addition to structures, materials, hydraulics, other subjects which can be studied include languages; highways; water supply; public health; geotechnics; mathematics and computing; construction management; engineering analysis; surveying; option in diving and underwater technology allows students to obtain a professional diving qualification and training in underwater construction, surveying, photography and inspection; final year options include coastal engineering and further structural design.
