Manchester, University of, BA (Hons), Architecture
Year 1: Technology (structures, construction and environmental design); history (historiography and an outline of major periods, movements and styles); anthropology (architectural psychology, sociology and philosophy); morphology (ancient and modern geometry, ergonomics and typology). Study is largely studio-based, where students carry out exercises and design projects associated with these subjects, developing skills in design process drawing, computer-aided design, communication, individual and group working and research. Years 2 and 3: Choice of studio, with differing themes allowing students to explore their own interests and develop their own architectural style.
