This course imparts an appreciation of engineering design methodologies as well as modern engineering materials, technologies and processes; it produces graduates with practical expertise in the design process, but with knowledge and understanding of the uses and limitations of current technology across all engineering branches; another key aim is to increase the motivation of students towards the practice of engineering and provide access for those who prefer not to study mathematics at the level required for BEng degrees; throughout, students develop the wider skills of information technology, communication, problem solving, team working and time management.
