Clinical: Core competencies are developed through 2 placements; each spanning 1 year; plus a final year placement focussing on consolidation of previous learning and specialisation; academic: integrated with the placement structure so that, in each of the 1st 2 years, students initially attend a block of teaching of 6 weeks at the University; research: students are encouraged to become research practitioners and critical consumers of clinically relevant research; develops critical and analytic skills; deepens understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
