The Centre for Computational Finance and Economic Agents (CCFEA) is a leading edge laboratory-based interdisciplinary teaching and research centre. Having been fully established in 2004, CCFEA has been recognised as a world leader in the field. Memebers of CCFEA come from economics, finance and computer science backgrounds. It applies advanced computational techniques to finance and economics.
The MSc Computational Finance course aims to equip students with the core concepts and mathematical principles of modern quantitative finance along with the operational skills to use computational packages (mainly Matlab) for financial modelling.
A Masters course lasts for twelve months (full-time), starting in October, and consists of taught modules during your autumn and spring terms, and normally a research-based dissertation or other project-based work submitted in September

Essex has excellent links by rail and road into central London. Trains run between central London and both Colchester and Southend taking up to an hour. The University's East 15 Acting School is approximately 45 minutes from central London on the London Underground Tube.
