The course builds upon the essential skills gained in a BA(Hons); the course is effectively the same course as the Architecture (part 2) postgraduate Diploma with all of the units of study mapped to the ARB/RIBA criteria for part 2 exemption; students do not have to have part 1 exemption; they join the course either because they are not intending to professionally practice in the UK; or they are planning to apply independently to the ARB/RIBA for Part 1 exemption; if they gain part 1 exemption students can then transfer to the Architecture (part 2) PgDip; undertaking the 60-credit master work that leads to the award of Architecture MA may follow successful completion of this course; technologies, professional studies and cultural context are delivered through lectures, seminars and workshops that prepare the grounds for support and development of design projects.
