Year 1: Basic skills and professional development; introduction to anatomy and physiology, biophysics, signals and systems; introduction to audiology and the role and functions of an audiologist through shadowing of practising audiologists. Year 2: Specialist modules begin with introductory clinical-based topics both on the assessment of patients and provision of hearing aids, and hearing therapy; acoustics, communication strategies and research methods; practical training in clinical audiology and hearing aid fitting. Year 3: Hospital-based learning experience in the fields of diagnostics, rehabilitation, paediatrics and therapy. Year 4: Detailed scientific knowledge with emphasis on latest developments in the field; research project.
