For the BSc (Hons) Computing, no previous computing experience is required, so the first and second years develop essential computing skills and explore a range of modern applications of IT. This broadly-based introduction prepares you for the specialist modules which develop your project management skills alongside your technical skills in computer networking and database and web application development. The course will develop the professional expertise expected of all computing graduates, provide teamwork experience, and allow you to demonstrate your ability to work independently on a project of your choice.
Years 1 and 2 of the degree develop the student’s general computing skills. In years 3 and 4, students may specialise in: Software Engineering; Computer Games Development; and Computer Network Technology.
All the specialisations have accreditation leading to MBCS (Member BCS), CITP (Chartered IT professional) and partial CEng (Chartered Engineer) exemption from the British Computer Society, the UK professional body for computing. The course will be also submitted for evaluation at the Cyprus Technical and Scientific Chamber.
