The course is designed for students who have studied classics, classical civilisation or ancient history at undergraduate level and are particularly interested in the narrative literature of Greece and Rome; it includes research methodologies and a specially designed module (narrative genres and theory) to provide foundation needed to undertake advanced work in ancient narrative literature and to produce a research-based dissertation in this area; in addition, students study Greek and/or Latin language at level appropriate to their existing language skills; advanced language students have the opportunity to read narrative texts in the original languages; some additional optional modules are also offered via the Welsh Video Network by staff at the University of Wales Lampeter.
