Course has been developed as an access module for students who wish to study the UCPD in teaching mathematics (numeracy) in the lifelong learning sector but who do not meet the national entry requirements in their personal mathematics (numeracy) skills; the course will enable the students to develop skills in mathematics (numeracy) in the areas of numbers, geometry, spatial awareness, probability, statistics and algebra; on successful completion of the module the students will be able to progress into the UCPD award; course aims to provide students with opportunities to develop their knowledge, understanding and application of a range of number skills; the skills the course aims to develop are in the areas of numbers, geometry, spatial awareness, probability, statistics and algebra; following this, students will then be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of number skills and meet the entry requirements for the UCPD in teaching mathematics (numeracy) in the lifelong learning sector.
