Academic Qualifications:
You should have successfully completed high school in
your own country with good grades in a range of subjects.
Language level:
You need to have an intermediate level of English
before starting the course. Preparatory English language programmes in the
department start in September, January and April and during the summer there is
a range of summer courses offering academic subject study together with English
language classes. There is a late July/early August start date (ICC Plus) for
students who need to improve their reading and writing skills before they start
the academic study in September
Entrance Test:
After you apply, you will be asked to take an entrance test and interview
either in London or in your own country (face-to-face or by email and Skype).
If you already have the following English language qualifications, you will not
have to do certain parts of the test.
We
advise you apply as soon as possible, especially if you wish to apply for SOAS
or University of London accommodation. The usual deadline is the end of June
but applications from well-qualified candidates can be considered throughout
the summer. The application form can be downloaded from the programme webpage.
SOAS is based in the heart of London, and the capital's rich cultural and social life is literally on its doorstep. It has excellent travel connections with bus, underground and train within easy access. The Bloomsbury campus is an intellectual centre well known to tourists and academics while Vernon Square is close to many of Islington's boutiques and restaurants.
