The Department of Drama, Theatre and Performance at University of Roehampton has established an international reputation for both teaching and research, and has forged an unusually distinctive identity within the field for its investigations through cutting-edge performance practice and critical theory. We have one of the largest academic teams in the UK, with international reputations as performance makers, writers, visual artists, critics and theoreticians.
This programme is designed to enable students to examine, question and challenge the nature and function of drama, theatre and performance. Its educational ethos and structural organisation encourages students to encounter and approach drama, theatre and performance as intrinsically interrelated intellectual, cultural and artistic practices.
Students on the programme are empowered to enhance their understanding through experience, learning through doing, and to develop strategies for independent and collaborative working. In the process, they not only gain detailed subject specific knowledge and understanding, they also acquire valuable transferable intellectual and social skills.
The programme can also be completed as a BA/BSc Combined Honours.
