Taught by professionals with extensive industry experience and high academic qualifications, the MSc Finance with Specialisations will prepare you for work in multicultural, globalised financial and banking organisations. This programme will enable you to offer flexible solutions to complex problems, with repercussions beyond the finance industry, such as the recent banking crisis.
The programme offers three specialisations:
You will gain a thorough understanding of the various fields that make up the finance industry, as well as learning practical skills for your future career. The University simulates the real-life experience of working in finance through training on the Thomson-Reuters platform, and guest lectures from industry specialists. Regent's University London also uses case studies of current live companies of interest, and you will participate in a case study competition, where your final valuation is presented to a panel of experts.
This MSc will enable you to gain a breadth of critical understanding and analysis of different aspects of finance, together with the opportunity to specialise in one of three key areas: banking, risk management or trading.
You will learn to think from first principles, deal with financial issues and contribute to the formulation of finance-related strategies. You will be introduced to a range of contrasting theoretical perspectives and research, so as to develop the ability to critically analyse and interpret information across all aspects of international finance.
Regent’s became the first University Chapter of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) in 2010. Students benefit from presentations by key risk specialists and networking opportunities with academics and practitioners from the field.
Whether you aspire to become a private wealth manager in the City of London, a risk analyst on Wall Street or a treasurer in your family business, the MSc will give you the rigorous academic and practical training, plus the business and intercultural skills you need to succeed.
From the main campus in stunning Regent's Park, where the University is based, it is a short walk to the West End, which offers world-class entertainment, museums, galleries, nightlife and shopping. Also, convenient location in the heart of London, allows students to travel easily around the city by the tube and London busses.
